MU Units with Lead ADA Compliance Responsibilities

For overall compliance:

Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resource Services - has overall responsibility for implementation of legally-mandated equal opportunity and affirmative action programs at MU.

Vice Provost for International Programs and Faculty Development - Monitors faculty hiring to ensure compliance with non-discrimination laws and other equity requirements.

Deputy Chancellor - Provides leadership in faculty equal opportunity, equity, and diversity programming.

Adaptive Computing Technology Center - Works with MU students, faculty, and staff with disabilities to help them gain full access to computing resources on campus; works with other local and governmental agencies to provide similar services statewide.

Campus Facilities - Has lead responsibility for most physical accessibility planning and implementation, except for auxiliary MU units - e.g. Intercollegiate Athletics, Missouri Unions, Residential Life, and Parking and Transportation - that are self-supporting. Campus Facilities has published a detailed campus map identifying various accessibility provisions, including curb cuts, elevators, TTYs, and assistive listening devices.

Disability Services - Provides accommodations and support services within the resources of the University. Assists college departments in providing access to services and programs in the most integrated setting possible.

Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator - Coordinates University efforts to comply with the ADA and to provide a welcoming environment for faculty, students, staff and visitors with disabilities.

For students (academic accommodations) - Disability Services - Provides accommodations and support services within the resources of the University.

For faculty (employment) - Vice Provost for International Programs and Faculty Development - Monitors hiring.

For faculty (employment) - Deputy Chancellor - Leadership on faculty equity and diversity issues.

For staff (employment) - Human Resource Services - Administers MU's affirmative action program for employment, which applies to people with disabilities; also provides guidance to employees and MU units on disability-related employment issues.
